The Top Gear special feature for Sports Relief, first broadcast on 10 July 2004
Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson went bumper to bumper with Jodie Kidd, Alan Davies, Patrick Kielty, Darren Jordan and Jimmy Carr in a series of tyre-screechingly fast paced challenges designed to test their pedal power to the max.
Among the highlights were a classic car race around the circuit, car-skittles and a double-decker banger challenge.
Richard Hammond and James May presided over the action and offered their usual critique on contestants' skill levels.

The distance between Resolute in northern Canada and the magnetic North Pole at Ellef Ringnes Island is 450 miles. It's a journey across sea ice and unforgiving mountainous terrain where temperatures can drop to minus 65ºC - a temperature at which exposed skin can freeze in less than 30 seconds. Only fools would attempt such a journey. So Jeremy and James are attempting to do it in the now legendary Toyota Hilux and Richard hopes to make it on a sled pulled by ten Canadian Inuit dogs. Watch the complaints from environmentalists roll in.

Top Gear of the Pops is a one-off musical special of the motoring show featuring Travis, Supergrass, McFly (given the task of writing a song in ten minutes) and finally Justin Hawkins - supported by Clarkson on drums, Hammond on bass and May on the keys.
It was shown as part of the Comic Relief 16 March 2007 appeal, mixing elements of Top Gear with Top of the Pops, the British music chart show cancelled in 2006, and the news segment features the hosts arguing about the state of the modern music scene. Not to be missed.

The Top Gear team of James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond swap the steering wheel for the shovel as they embark on a Ground Force style makeover challenge as part of Sport Relief.
The Top Gear team of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond decide, for Sport Relief to resurrect the show Ground Force, and provide a garden makeover to the garden of one of Britain's 'sporting legends', namely Sir Stephen Redgrave. Helping them are a team of Poles.
As the team's only 'country bumpkin' Hammond is the team leader. However, his garden plan fails to impress Clarkson and May, who want to include a water feature and a shed, respectively. They are sent to a Wyevale Garden Centre to pick up supplies, returning with their desired equipment.
Hammond uses a small digger to dig a trench, to be used to create a 'river of gravel.' Clarkson earlier revealed his unique method for pulling up weeds and cutting branches off trees using a shotgun. Hammond's digger topples over in the trench, so he returns with a much larger digger to pull it out, resulting in leaving numerous Caterpillar tracks marks all over the garden. Meanwhile, James and the Poles have completed the shed.
Hammond's tree seat is completed. He brings in a 14 tone crane to hook the seat so he could slip it over the tree. Despite the machine getting stuck, the crane is long enough to hook onto the seat. Because he had not got the hang of the crane, he accidentally swished it sideways, destroying both the shed and the seat.
Clarkson decides to remove a rockery by using a homemade bomb. During the explosion one wall of the shed James built is smashed. After this happens May steps out of the shed with a plank of wood, and asks what time the programme will air. After being informed it was going to air after the watershed, he exclaims 'you're a fu-'. At this point, the episode cuts to the next scene.
Jeremy orders some cement to pave over the garden, but he orders too little, and only a small portion of the garden is covered. Hammond gets stuck in the cement, and Jeremy lifts him out. James' shed is destroyed for the third time when Jeremy erects some rugby posts (despite the fact that none of Sir Stephen Redgrave's family plays rugby). However, he and the Poles accidentally drop the posts. This lead to James angrily telling Clarkson to apologize while pointing the plank of wood at Clarkson. Hammond reveals his barbecue system, which uses a jet engine to rotate the meat and cook it. However, the blades rotate too fast and the fire from the engine sets James' newly-rebuilt shed on fire. They would have been able to extinguish the fire if May and Clarkson hadn't fought over the fire extinguisher.
The team then received word that Sir Steve Redgrave was coming up the drive to the house. Redgrave is upset at the destruction of his garden, so the Poles run away. Eventually he comes around thanks to Jeremy talking to him privately. Jeremy then shows off his turbo-charged water feature, which blows the top off itself due to the water pressure and crashes into the greenhouse built by the Poles, breaking all the glass. Until then, the greenhouse was the only structure still intact.

Just what will motoring be like in a post apocalyptic world that’s been blown to bits by nuclear bombs or a massive comet? It’s a burning question that’s on literally nobody’s mind, and we give you all the answers in this brand new, incredibly cheerful Top Gear DVD.
Embarking on a terrifying journey into the future, we show you how to drive to work in the perpetual darkness of a Nuclear Winter, how to make motorsport exciting when there’s only two racing drivers left alive, and, in a world where all cars are bristling with weapons, how to survive the savage, explosive fury of a Doomsday M.O.T test.
And amongst all the nuclear carnage, we also tackle the ultimate petrolhead’s dilemma – what cars would you take for a final drive if there was only one barrel of petrol left on the planet? The explosions are huge, the cars are superb, so relax and enjoy.
PS. This frightening vision of a post nuclear world is backed up by top scientists, in case you think it’s us just cocking about.

Cars! Film! Cars on film! Film involving cars! You get the idea. It’s basically a Blu-ray involving those two things.
Gasp as we find the perfect drift car for a gritty, Bourne Identity-style chase! Cheer as we stage a race for all those unsung heroes of the movie industry! Whoop as we find the car that makes the perfect dramatic exhaust note to dub onto an action sequence! Make some other sort of noise we haven’t thought of yet as we re-attempt the classic Man With The Golden Gun barrel roll, having frankly made a total hash of it when we first tried it on telly! All this plus a vast fleet of sexy supercars and a man with a jet pack racing a Skoda.
Top Gear At The Movies. It’s better than an actual movie. Probably. Actually, it depends on which movie we’re talking about. Truth is, you’d be better judging this on a case-by-case basis. Why not write to us with the name of a film and we’ll tell you whether this Blu-ray is better or not. Actually, on second thoughts, don’t.
